Great A/V Receiver, I was looking for a receiver to get a decent sound for music, which could pass all inputs (including analog) via the HDMI connection on the TV. Also was looking for a room so friendly to AM / FM radio to get.
This unit has met and exceeded all my expectations. That said, I can not comment on the ease of surround sound setup yet (future update), but other studies to cover pretty well.
What I can say is that this sounds great with two speakers Polk Audio bookshelf. All my music sounds great, great film sound, and looks great in my entertainment center. Some will tell you to go to good analog sound for music, but this sounds very much to my ears (and I'm used to a recording studio at home with studio monitors.) As soon as the couple with some good speakers and you'll thoroughly enjoy .
The drawbacks that I can speak, are not very important, but I am here in any case:
